About us
Mental World was founded by Kamolluck Manokulanunta. She was born in Thailand and graduated from university as a psychologist in both Chiang Mai and Amsterdam. From this background her great interest in cross-cultural issues arose.

Our psychologists or coaches have extensive experience in their field and have a great affinity with cross-cultural services. They choose the most suitable treatment or process for your specific situation. We pay a lot of attention to the quality of our services. That is why all psychologists and coaches regularly attend courses and workshops to keep their expertise up to date and to ensure the effectiveness of the treatments and coaching programs. It goes without saying that we all adhere to the guidelines of the Dutch Healthcare Authority, which means we guarantee high quality of care.
Our locations
Our head office is located in Lelystad, but you will find our psychologists and coaches throughout the country. And if there is no psychologist or coach near you, we can help you very well and safely with a video connection; comfortably and securely from your own home! Ask for the possibilities.
Personal & effective guidance
At Mental World psychologist practice we believe it is important that you receive the right guidance that suits you and that you need. We therefore pay a lot of attention to getting a clear picture of your personal situation and the complaints you experience. We then create a treatment plan tailored to you, using the different treatment methods that we can offer you.
In order to provide good and professional guidance, we work with experienced therapists with different expertise. We also think it is important to continue to innovate and we are always open to new treatment methods and applications that can contribute to the best guidance for you.
Treatment program at Mental World
Depending on your complaints, a course within generalist basic mental health care at Mental World will be reimbursed by your insurer for a portion. We are independent of health insurers and do not have contracts with them, so we are not limited by insurers' requirements or budget ceilings. As a result, our waiting time is much shorter than most practices. In order to submit our invoices to your insurer, it is important that we receive a referral from your GP.
As a psychologist practice, we strive to keep our waiting time as short as possible. Our starting point is that after registration we will contact you by telephone within a week for a brief initial telephone introduction and to schedule the intake. We will then start treatment as soon as possible after the intake. For the current waiting times, see waiting times.
In addition to regular treatments in our practice, we also offer the option of following a digital (video calling) treatment process. We always carefully check whether this form of treatment actually fits your request for help and can be used effectively as part of the treatment.
Rates and payment
Payment
As mentioned, we offer uncontracted insured care. For information about how much of the costs you can claim, please refer to your policy and insurance conditions in your own health insurer policy.
In our practice we use the maximum NZa rate for 'GZ psychologist in quality statute section II' for diagnosis and treatment.
- After each session you will receive an invoice by email, after which you can pay by bank transfer.
- You can then submit this invoice to your health insurer.
You are always responsible for paying the invoice to our practice. It is also your responsibility to properly inform yourself about what your insurance policy does or does not cover. If your insurer subsequently reimburses less than expected, you cannot recover this from our practice. This is an issue between you and your insurance company.
We use the NZa hourly rate for uncontracted and uninsured care such as supervision, therapy and coaching.
Terms of payment:
You will receive an invoice after each session. We request that you pay this invoice within 14 days of the invoice date. If payment is not made after 14 days, we will send you a reminder invoice. If this reminder has not been paid after 14 days, you will receive a reminder with €4.00 administration costs. If payment is still not made, we will send a notice of default after 7 days with €21.00 extra administration costs. If no payment is made after this, we will transfer your outstanding invoice to a collection agency. All additional costs for engaging the collection agency will be passed on to you.
Cancel
In the event of a missed appointment or an appointment that is canceled less than 24 hours in advance, we are unfortunately forced to charge € 95.00 for the time reserved for you.
